Homicide Victim -
Donald Lee Showman II

Crime: Robbery / Homicide

Date of Release: April 13, 1999

The Pennsylvania State Police, Mercer, continue their investigation into the Robbery and Homicide of Donald Lee Showman II. At approximately 8:00 a.m., Showman was discovered lying dead outside of his home in Lackawannock Township, Mercer County, Pennsylvania.

Investigators have determined that the victim was dropped off at his home in an unconscious state and later died. Showman's death was the result of a severe head injury he received earlier that evening at a different location. Investigators have located a female subject who was with Showman that evening. She and the victim had been at Frank's Sports Bar in the city of Youngstown, Ohio, when she discovered the victim unconscious in a patio area of the bar. The investigation revealed that the victim reportedly became involved in a fight outside of the bar when he suffered a blow to his head. The severe head injury rendered the victim unconscious, at which point he was robbed of his wallet, money and shoes. Authorities believe that there are several persons who were present at the bar at the time he was injured and know who is responsible for the victim's injury and subsequent robbery.
