Investigators related that at approximately 8:30 p.m., an unknown subject approached the service station.  He went to a pay phone and appeared to make a call, then approached the victim.  He asked the victim if he could borrow a gas can.  After the victim retrieved a gas can, and as he bent over to put the nozzle of the gas pump into the can, he was struck on the back of the head with an unknown object.  As the victim collapsed, he was again struck in the head.  A witness told police the suspect got into a red and white full size pickup truck driven by another unknown person.  The victim had to be transported by ambulance to the hospital for treatment.
