The Pennsylvania State Police at Belle Vernon
continue their search for the person or persons responsible for the Homicide
of 45-year old John Lynn Newman. Investigators reported that on February 4, 2003, at approximately 6:50 a.m., Newman was discovered seated in his 1992 blue Oldsmobile sedan by his wife and 14-year old daughter. The car was located along First Street at the intersection of Liberty Street in California Boro, Washington County. Newman was the victim of a single gunshot, which entered his left ear, severed the brain stem and lodged in the skull. Newman was last seen at approximately 9:00 p.m., on the evening of February 3, 2003. His wife regarded him as a family man, who mostly stayed at home. His last known address was in the 100 block of Liberty Avenue in California Pennsylvania. What You Can Do:
