The Pennsylvania State Police at Skippack in
Montgomery County continue to investigate a series of armed robberies that
investigators believe were committed by the same three individuals.
On Wednesday, May 8, 2002, at 12:40 a.m., 3-Black males entered the Sunoco gas station at the King of Prussia Service Plaza on the Pennsylvania Turnpike (westbound) in Upper Merion Township, Montgomery County. The attendant was distracted by one of the males as another male produced a large knife and placed it to the victim's back, forcing him to the floor, while a third person removed money from the crash drawer. The suspects fled the scene in a small sedan on SR-202. The victim was unharmed and immediately called the police. The surveillance videos on two other area robberies revealed the same three suspects were responsible. One-armed robbery occurred on May 6, 2002, at 11:45 p.m., at the Sunoco A-Plus South Gulph Road in Upper Merion Townhip. The other occurred on May 7, 2002 at 1230 a.m., at the Sunoco A-Plus store on Township Line Road in Abington Township.
