On March 30, 2002, the Pennsylvania State
Police at Beaver investigated an incident in which a 54-year old woman who
was traveling south on SR-60 in Vanport Borough, Beaver County, had an
encounter with an individual who was impersonating a police officer. The victim related that a male subject, unknown race, was operating a white mid-size vehicle and attempted to stop her along SR-60. The unknown suspect had a white or dull yellow revolving light on the dash, and alternating lights in the grill. The suspect would turn the lights off when traffic approached from the opposite direction. The suspect followed the victim approximately 4-miles to the Wal-Mart in Center Township, Beaver County. When the victim entered the parking lot of the Wal-Mart, the suspect circled the lot twice then fled the scene.
