The United States Marshal Service continues their search for Mohammed Anwar. On July 22, 1998, Anwar was arrested by federal agents in Schenectady, New York and charged with importing over 1-kilogram of heroin into the United States from Afghanistan. He was subsequently released on $100,000 bond. On March 2, 1999, an arrest warrant for Anwar was issued when he failed to appear at his federal trial in Albany, New York. ![]() Although his last known residence was in Schnectady, New York, he is known to frequent and have associates in the Scranton and Philadelphia areas of Pennsylvania.
