The Pennsylvania State Police Washington, in
Washington County Pennsylvania, continues their investigation into the
shooting that left Anthony Stephen Wargo dead. The shooting death of the 24-year-old victim took place at approximately 12:15 a.m., on January 8, 2000, in South Strabane Township, Washington County. The driver and victim were traveling along Interstate 70, east bound, when a white male in his late 20's to early 30's opened fire while the victims were attempting to pass his vehicle. The suspect vehicle was reported as driving in an unsafe manner prior to the incident. The suspect was operating a late model Chevrolet Blazer 4-door, dark green in color with black windows. The victim was seated in the passenger's seat; the suspect's Blazer was driving in the right lane. The suspect opened his window, took a small caliber hand gun and shot two rounds into the air, then shot a round into the vehicle, striking the passenger in the neck. The suspect vehicle was last seen traveling either East Bound on Interstate 70, or south bound to Interstate 79.
