The Pennsylvania State Police
Hazelton, is currently investigating a double Homicide that occurred in
Hollenbeck Township, Luzerne County, in the early morning hours of July
19, 1999. Both victims suffered blunt force trauma and were shot. The investigation has revealed that the victims picked up two white male hitchhikers near the Pilot Truck Stop, along I-80 in Sugarloaf Township, Luzerne County on July 17, 1999. The unknown suspects stole the victim's vehicle from the scene it was later recovered on August 2, 1999 in Winchester Virginia Investigators believe that the suspects may have traveled to the State of Georgia after abandoning the vehicle. Two rifles removed from the scene, a Winchester .22 caliber semiautomatic and a Marlin 30/30 are still missing. ![]() |
