 The city of Erie Bureau of Police, in conjunction with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the Pennsylvania State Police, continues there search fro Jack Earl Burgess II. Burgess is wanted for Parental Abduction and authorities have charged him with kidnapping, Interference with Custody, Concealing the whereabouts of a child, and Obstructing the Administration of Law.

On May 28, 1999 Burgess picked up his two minor children, (Leah Rose Burgess - age 7 and Sara Jean Burgess age 5) for his scheduled visitation, stating that he was taking them camping. On May 31, 1999, he failed to return as scheduled and did not bring his daughters back, nor has he contacted any family members of friends since May 28, 1999. There have been sightings in the Sheffield and Kane, Pennsylvania areas. Investigators state Burgess was last known to be operating a 1988 Chevy pickup truck, brown in color, with Pennsylvania registration ZN56566
