Fugitive / Case Number # 646 Unknown Bank Robbery Suspect

Case Facts:  Pennsylvania Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward up to $ 1,000.00 for information that leads to the arrest of a yet unidentified Bank Robbery Suspect.

The Pennsylvania State Police, Carlisle and Newport, continue their investigation into three bank robberies that occurred between January 1998 and May 1998. Investigators believe that the same suspect may be responsible for all three crimes. The first robbery occurred at Financial Trust in Mt. Holly Springs, South Middleton Township, Cumberland County. On Tuesday, January 20, 1998 at approximately 9:15 a.m., the lone suspect entered the bank and demanded money from the teller. He was wearing a dark colored ski mask and brandished a firearm. After fleeing the bank, the suspect exited the area in a 1992 Chevrolet Astro Van, white in color with a large maroon stripe along the bottom. Authorities later recovered the van within a mile of the bank; it had been reported stolen in the State of Indiana during the month of December 1997. The second robbery occurred at the Bank of Landisburg, Shermansdale in Carroll Township, Perry County on Friday, February 27, 1998. At approximately 8:45 a.m., a suspect again attired in a dark ski mask and brandishing a weapon demanded money from the teller. He fled the area in a 1991 light blue Nissan Pathfinder which was later recovered within a mile from the bank; it had been reported as stolen in the State of Maryland. The most recent robbery occurred on May 12, 1998 at 1:10 p.m., at Financial Trust again in Mt. Holly Springs, Cumberland County. This time the suspect was wearing a camouflage ski mask as he displayed the firearm and demanded money. He fled the scene in a 1995 Ford Pickup Truck, which had been stolen earlier in the day from a business located along Holly Pike; the vehicle was again abandoned within a mile of the bank.
