Case Facts: Pennsylvania Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward up to $ 1,000.00 for information leading to the arrest of a yet
unknown Arsonist and Burglary suspect. In addition to the reward money being
offered by Pennsylvania Crime Stoppers, an Additional Reward of up to $9,000.00 is being offered through the National Insurance
Crime Bureau.
The Pennsylvania State Police, New Castle, continue their investigation into the Arson and
Burglary of the New Castle Company. These crimes resulted in an estimated damage loss in
excess of one million dollars.
On July 12, 1997, at approximately 3:00 a.m., the suspect(s) broke into the New Castle
Plastic Company located at 301 Mahoning Avenue in the City of New Castle, Lawrence County,
PA. Entry to the plant was gained by smashing the glass panel in an office door and
reaching inside to the door knob. The suspect(s) set a minimum of eight different fires
using combustibles available at the scene. Multiple fires were set in the office area,
production room, and in the warehouse which contained raw plastic material as well as
finished products. The suspect(s) also drove a two motor through the lunchroom area
destroying the suspended ceiling while conducting numerous acts of vandalism throughout
the building.
