The Pennsylvania State Police, Troop G, Philipsburg continue the investigation into a case of Theft by Unlawful Taking that occurred in Huston Township, Centre County, Pennsylvania.
Between Friday, June 1 and Monday, June 4, 2007, unknown person(s) entered a construction zone alone I-99 near Skytop mountain and gained entry into a large box storage trailer. The suspect(s) removed 8 boxes of 5/8" x 5/8" copper crimpings valued at $61,200. Also removed was a box of 1 1/4" x 1" copper crimpings valued at $6,750.
Additionally, various construction tools and equipment were removed including; crimpers, generator, welder, assorted hydraulic hoses, pump, numerous hand held tools and tape measures.
The total value of the stolen items is over $80,000.
