Troop F 1

Crime: Homicide by Vehcile

Date of Release: November 1, 2006

PENNSYLVANIA CRIME STOPPERS IS OFFERING A CASH REWARD OF UP TO $2,000.00 LEADING TO AN ARREST IN THIS CASE OF HOMICIDE BY VEHICLE.
UPDATED INFORMATION:

Investigation into this case has determined that the equipment trailer involved in the crash (pictured above) was stolen from Stage's Used Equipment along SR 15 in Tioga Twp., Tioga County, sometime between October 8th and 11th, 2006.  There is a strong possibility that the equipment trailer may have been parked at the RMV Storage facility along SR 287 in Tioga Township during the timeframe of October 8th through October 27, 2006; the date of the crash.

The Pennsylvania State Police, Troop F, Mansfield continue their search for the driver of the vehicle that was towing or hauling a trailer that became disconnected and upon impact killed the driver of another vehicle.

On Friday, October 27, 2006, at apx. 11:50 a.m., Rhonda Fromm was operating a Teal Blue, 1997 Dodge Intrepid.  Mrs. Fromm and a passenger, her husband were traveling Northbound on SR 287 in Tioga Township, Tioga County, Pennsylvania when a medium duty equipment trailer became disconnected from the vehicle that it had been connected to.  The equipment trailer traveled into the northbound lane of SR 287, directly into the front of the Fromm car, killing Rhonda Fromm instantly.

The driver of the vehicle towing or hauling the trailer failed to stop at the scene.

The trailer appears to be homemade and not properly registered. Also, the trailer had no standard Vehicle Identification Number applied to it.

The investigators have learned that it was possibly a dark colored truck in fair to good condition that was towing or hauling the trailer.

Investigators are asking anyone who may have been traveling on SR 287, close to Ives Run Recreation Area, in Tioga Township, Tioga County, Pennsylvania on Friday, October 27, 2006 around the time of the incident and may have seen a vehicle towing or hauling a trailer to contact Pennsylvania Crime Stoppers.
