The Pittston City Police Department, with assistance from the Pa State Police, Jenkins Township Police Department and the Luzerne County District Attorney's Office are investigating the disappearance of Shelva Jean Rafte. 

 

On Sunday, May 28, 2006, at apx. 10:30 p.m. Shelva Rafte left her daughter's graduation party in Nicholson Borough, Wyoming County accompanied by her boyfriend.  According to her boyfriend, the couple traveled to his residence located on Market Street, Jenkins Township, Luzerne County.  Following an argument in the early morning hours of Monday, May 29, 2006, Shelva Rafte left her boyfriend's residence to walk home .  Ms. Rafte was last seen in the area of Market and River Streets, Jenkins Township. Investigators feel there may be suspicious circumstances surrounding the disappearance of Shelva Rafte. 

 

Ms. Rafte was last seen wearing a powder blue shirt, denim capri pants with rhinestones on back pockets, sandals, and a pink purse

 

Ms. Rafte's last known address was Cleveland Street, Pittston, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania.  She is also know to frequent the areas of Jenkins Township, Luzerne County; Nicholson Borough, Wyoming County; and the City of Harrisburg, Dauphin County.
