PENNSYLVANIA CRIME STOPPERS IS OFFERING A CASH REWARD FOR INFORMATION
LEADING TO THE ARREST OF A SUSPECT IN A ROBBERY.
The Pennsylvania State Police, Troop N, Lehighton,
continue their investigation of a bank robbery in Penn Forest Township,
Carbon County, Pennsylvania.
On Thursday, July 31, 2008, at approximately 10:40
a.m., an unknown man entered the Jim Thorpe National Bank on SR 0903,
Penn Forest Township, Carbon County.
The suspect produced a note; giving it to a teller with
written instruction to "give me all your money, no dye packs
and I have a gun." The suspect placed a brown paper bag on
the counter. During this time, the suspect stated several times "hurry
up or I will shoot you", as he grabbed at his waist area. No
gun was actually displayed.
The teller emptied the drawer and placed the money
in the bag. The suspect grabbed the bag from the teller and took
the note from the counter.
The suspect then fled the bank.
The suspect was last seen wearing a navy blue baseball
hat, black sweatshirt, navy blue sweatpants, and white tennis shoes.
About 15 minutes prior to the robbery, the suspect
had been in the bank requesting information on opening an account.
