PENNSYLVANIA CRIME STOPPERS IS OFFERING A CASH REWARD FOR INFORMATION
LEADING TO AN ARREST IN A CASE OF HOMICIDE.
The Pennsylvania State Police, Troop L, Schuylkill
Haven continue to investigate the death of David Reed.
On August 21, 1985, David Reed was reported missing
by his family. David Reed was a thirteen year old boy, who was
approximately five feet tall; weighing approximately 120 pounds.
He was last seen wearing a Pottsville Republican T-shirt, a pair
of blue jeans, and blue sneakers. David Reed who wore glasses,
was not wearing them when last seen.
On December 15, 1985, David Reed's body was discovered
in a wooded area located off of Caldwell Street, Cressona Borough,
Schuylkill County. This was not an area that was known to be frequented
by area youths. David's body was badly decomposed. Additional
remains of David were later retrieved from a residence, where it
was reported that the resident's dog had discovered them.
On December 10, 2007, at the request of the Pennsylvania
State Police, the Schuylkill County Coroner's Office filed a petition
to exhume the remains of David Reed.
On January 9, 2008, the Schuylkill County Court
of Common Please granted permission to exhume David's remains.
The remains of David Reed have been re-examined
and the cause of death has been ruled a Homicide.
