PENNSYLVANIA CRIME STOPPERS IS OFFERING A CASH REWARD FOR INFORMATION
LEADING TO THE ARREST OF YET UNKNOWN SUSPECTS IN THIS CASE OF RETAIL
THEFT.
The Pennsylvania State Police, Troop D, Butler are investigating
a Retail Theft that occurred in Butler County, Pennsylvania.
On Sunday, April 13, 2008, during the afternoon hours, two unknown
suspects committed thefts at the Boscov's and J C Penney's Departments
Stores, located at the Clearview Mall, Center Township, Butler County,
Pennsylvania.
In each incident, the suspects approached the jewelry counter and
engaged the clerks in conversation. While one of the suspects kept
the clerks distracted, the other suspect was able to steal several
diamond rings.
Five rings were stolen from Boscov's with a retail value of $34,000
and four rings were stolen from J C Penney's with a retail value
of $10,000. The theft was not immediately discovered at J C Penney's
until a daily inventory was taken.
Both suspects were wearing dark clothing; one suspect was wearing
a leather cap.
