LEADING TO THE ARREST OF YET UNKNOWN SUSPECTS IN THIS CASE OF BURGLARY.
The Pennsylvania State Police, Troop C, Ridgway are investigating
a Burglary/Theft that occurred in Ridgway Township, Elk County, Pennsylvania.
On Friday, March 28, 2008, at approximately 3:55 p.m., an older gentleman
was the victim of a distraction theft, where unknown suspects removed
a large sum of cash from his residence. One suspect gained entry
to the victim's residence by telling him that he was a county surveyor
and that there was a problem with his property lines. The suspect
had the victim accompany him out the back door to show him where
the property stakes should be located. The suspect kept the victim
busy in the backyard while at least one other suspect was inside
the residence committing the theft.
A witness saw the suspects departing the residence in a newer model
tan or beige colored Nissan that had tinted windows and dual exhausts
on both the right and left side of the vehicle; possibly a 2004 -
2008 Nissan Maxima. The vehicle displayed a plain white cardboard
registration plate with the numbers 103-095. There was no other writing
on the plate. There were at least 3 individuals inside the vehicle.
The victim was only able to describe one of the suspects as a darker
skinned white male, 5'5" to 5'7", approximately 160 lbs.,
having a light colored beard or goatee and wearing a tan coat with
khaki pants.
