 The Pennsylvania State Police, Fugitive Unit continue the search for Ashir Jamin Matai AKA Nashon Ahara Matai.   On November 9, 2007, the Pennsylvania State Police attempted a traffic stop on Ashir Matai, on SR 83. Mr. Matai fled from Troopers and headed into York, York County, Pennsylvania. During the vehicle pursuit, Mr. Matai crashed his vehicle into a building on South Duke Street, York; at which time he fled on foot eluding capture.  At the time of this incident Mr. Matai was on Pennsylvania State Parole for prior convictions of Felony Sex Assault, Resisting Arrest, and Criminal Trespass. A warrant was issued by the Pennsylvania State Parole Board for violating the conditions of his parole.  New charges were filed for Fleeing or Attempting to Elude Police, Accident Involving an Occupied Structure, Flight to Avoid Apprehension and/or Punishment. There is also a Domestic Relations Bench Warrant for Mr. Matai.   Mr. Matai is believed to be in the area of York, Pennsylvania and is currently a suspect in a recent shooting in the city of York.   Mr. Matai has several family members in York and may be staying with one of them. His last known address was 106 West Boundary Avenue, York, York County, Pennsylvania.  Mr. Matai is a possible violent gang member in the west side of York. He has violent tendencies and is a known drug abuser. He will flee or fight with police.
